Nancy Smith local organizer for the Gallia County Snack Pack Program addressed the regular meeting of the Gallipolis Rotary Club.  President Deb Rhodes presided and Matt Willis gave the invocation.

Rotary Reads–Next Tuesday is our regular time to read in the elementary schools so Emily Dailey had a big box of books on hand at the meeting for Rotarians to choose their books to read.  Our November readers include Shirley Doss at Southwestern Elementary, Jenny Evans at Addaville, Tammi Brabham at Vinton, and President Deb Rhodes at Hannan Trace.  This is actually a fun time for both Rotarians and the kids.  A big Rotary THANKS goes out to these readers for volunteering for November!  Be sure to get some good pictures.

There’s more below the fold!

GALLIPOLIS ROTARIANS SCOOP UP A RECORD!Festival Chair Paul Koch

President Deb Rhodes opened the first regular meeting after the big weekend where Gallipolis Rotarians scooped their way to record ice cream sales at the 38th annual Bob Evans Farm Festival.  Deb recognized Festival chairman, Paul Koch, and asked him to come to the podium to announce the unofficial total.  Paul had no clue about the total as he was able to take Monday as vacation.  It was with great satisfaction and pride in the efforts of his fellow Gallipolis Rotarians as he announced the total three day sales of $16,494.00!  That’s a lot of scooping!  The assembled Rotarians rose and gave Paul and hearty ‘Standing-O’ in appreciation for his hard work in reaching this achievement!  Congratulations, Paul! Gallipolis Rotarians had a special guest scooper at the festival this year, District Governor Tom Kockensparger came down to Rio Grande on Friday and helped out scooping vanilla on apple dumplings for several hours!  Thanks for coming down to Gallia county and helping us out, Tom!
