Editor’s Note–It was a cold and snowy Tuesday morning, but Gallipolis Rotarians assembled in spite of the temperatures and icy roads.  President Deb Rhodes called the meeting to order with 14 Rotarians present.  Your intrepid Secretary was snowbound (along with Resty Alonzo) on Highpoint Drive and the minutes for our meeting were prepared by President Deb!

Books for Libraries–Our reception was held last Thursday for school librarians.  There were 8 or 9 people there from the schools.  Rotarians that were there included:  Debbie Saunders, Margaret, LouEllen, Jim Morrison, Matt, Bonnie, Deb Rhodes and Bob Hood.   Cathy Clark was our wonderful photographer.  We appreciate her filling in for Secretary Chuck, who has been under the weather!

Gallipolis Rotary Club learns about Electro Physiology

A sample EP Lab

President Deborah Rhodes welcomed assembled Rotarians and guests to the meeting.  Visiting with us today (again!) were Jodie Anderson and Shawn Siders, both from OVB, guests of Katrinka Hart and David Nadler.  Your secretary obtained completed membership applications from Jodie and Shawn, so we will be seeing them weekly!  Our other guest was Dr. Choudhary Rayani, MD from Holzer Clinic who was our speaker for the meeting.

Editor’s Note–Many thanks to Margaret Evans who subbed for me as I had to be in Columbus for an early morning meeting!  May I also congratulate all our members for the great efforts to attend meetings.  Last month, our club reported one of the best attendance averages for the past few years–85%!  Let’s keep this great attendance going!

Gallia Chamber’s Lori Neal Addresses Rotary President Deb Rhodes and Lori Neal from the Gallia County Chamber of Commerce

President Deb Rhodes passed out a summary of items discussed in the board meeting last week.  There will be a change in how the bills are distributed.  They will now come to us via email – unless you notify Katrinka, Deb or Chuck that you would prefer a paper bill.  There will be a $1.00 fee for a paper bill but the staff is more than willing to continue paper to those who want it.  Since Katrinka can’t be at a lot of the meetings, Deb, Chuck and Dave Nadler will accept payments for your bills.

Great Attendance–We had a huge turn out this morning.  There were no empty seats at the tables! Rotarians must be getting back into the groove for the year.

President Deb Rhodes emphasizes the importance of give to the Rotary Foundation!

President Deb Rhodes welcomed an excellent attendance of Gallipolis Rotarians for the first meeting of the year at 7:15 AM in the Holzer Clinic Doctors’ Dining Room.  Our special guest this morning was Chris Badran, from Mason County.  Welcome, Chris!

Deb announced two members had turned in Rotary Coin Boxes to benefit the Rotary Foundation.  Margaret Evans and John Ellison turned in ’stuffed’ boxes this morning.  While both these boxes were quite heavy, Bonnie McFarland’s $129 record still stands until Treasurer Katrinka Hart gives the final total.  Be sure you have a Rotary coin box for your dresser or near the washing machine to pick up any spare change.
