June Board Meeting - June 3, 2009

Reports:
The minutes from the May Board meeting were motioned for approval by Jim and seconded by Paul and approved as read by Deb Rhodes. The minutes are being posted on the blog.
Shawn gave the Treasurer’s Report with the last month’s checking account transactions and the difference in accounts balances for the last month. Shawn reported that he is sending $100 to Rotary International on behalf of Bonnie McFarland. She raised these funds using her coin box.
Old Business:
The Spaghetti Dinner date is set for June 20, 2009. The dinner will take place at the Senior Citizens Center from 5 PM – 7 PM. Deb will check about having a sign up sheet and the planning status. Paul mentioned that we need to make sure there is sufficient help.
New Business:
The Rotary Mile will be held on July 3rd prior to the annual Parade at 7 PM. We will need volunteers for the start and finish line. All participants must be there at 5:30 PM.
Denise Shockley will be coordinating the 4-H Livestock Royalty events this year. Judges will be brought in from out of the area. Volunteers will be needed. Jim moved to approve plans for coordinating this event, and Paul seconded.
Deb reported that Shirley would like to hold the June 30th Rotary meeting at the Senior Center. The Senior Center will cater the dinner. The evening meeting will start at 6:30 PM.
Jim asked if we had plans to sponsor the River Recreation Festival this year. Paul mentioned that we had a tight budget, as Katrinka explained at the last board meeting, so we will be passing on sponsoring this year’s event.
Deb announced that this was her last Board meeting, as well as Jim’s. Thank you for your service to the Rotary Club.
