THE GALLIPOLIS ROTARY CLUB

Gallia Junior Fair President, Dan Brown, addressed Gallipolis Rotary this week and provided an interesting update regarding this year’s Gallia County Junior Fair which starts next week.  “It takes a lot of people who dedicate their time to help make the Gallia County Junior Fair one of the great events in our area,” said Dan.

President Bonnie McFarland welcomed Rotarians and guests to the weekly meeting.  Guests included visiting Rotarian Curt Wiggins from Jackson Rotary and Evans Smalley, daughter of Margaret Evans.  We had an excellent attendance today.  Kevin Petrie provided the invocation.  Bonnie thanked everyone who came out and gave our District Governor a great reception last week.

President Bonnie McFarland opened the July 21, 2009 regular meeting of the Gallipolis Rotary Club.  We had a full house today due to the visit by the District Governor, Antaram ‘Ram’ Gawande and his wife, Sushila.  Sergeant-in-Arms Kurt Dailey gave the invocation.

President Bonnie asked the club to go around and introduce ourselves to our guests.  She also reported that 2 coin boxes were turned in by Kevin Petrie and Bob Hood.  Great job, guys!

President Bonnie McFarland welcomed assembled Rotarians to our regular meeting.  Our attendance was a bit light today, hopefully due to vacation schedules.  Many of our regulars were not with us today.  Kurt Dailey provided the invocation for our meeting.

Rotary Education Moment–Margaret Evans provided the first installment of an on-going Rotary Education Moment for the club today.  This update on Rotary is to help all of us become more acquainted with the workings of Rotary and a weekly specific glimpse into one interesting area.  Thanks, Margaret!

Treasurer’s Report -   Shawn Siders reported that Margaret Evans just gave $200 to the Spaghetti Dinner.  He also reported that the $1000 Bill Gates donation was put on the Rotary Credit Card and has not been paid, therefore, is not reflected in the checking account balances reported.   Click to read on . . .
