Treasurer’s Report:

Shawn provided this month’s Treasurer’s Report.  He mentioned that our checking account went up around $7000 from the monies received from the Bob Evans Farm Festival, however, mentioned that we were still waiting on the bill for the ice cream.  Our income from the farm festival was $8043.65.  He also reported that Margaret Evans won the entire split the pot fund and donated back to the endowment.

Shawn also discussed that there was a decrease in one of the CD’s due to a donation to the Phillipines for disaster relief.  There was also $115.20 that was raised for the Relay for Life effort through the auction project.  Deb motioned to accept the Treasurer’s Report, Mel seconded, and all were in favor.

Secretary’s Report:

Chuck reported that attendance for the month of October was 82%.  He also said that a letter was sent to two of our members to encourage them to attend more meetings.

Old Business:

Disaster Relief - Mel thanked the club for the efforts relating to the Phillipines Disaster Relief.  He mentioned that DG Ram has set November 15 for the cut off for donations.  Mel said that he was comfortable that our donation would reach the proper people without going through a lot of “red tape”.

Christmas Party - This year’s Christmas party will be on December 15, 2009.

New Business:

Bonnie reported that she received a letter of resignation from Katrinka Hart regarding her position as Club Treasurer.  Katrinka suggested transferring the duties of treasurer to Shawn Siders and adding Jodie Anderson as a signer to the Rotary accounts for backup purposes.  Katrinka mentioned that she would still like to perform as a Rotary member.  Paul Koch motioned to accept Katrinka’s resignation, along with Shawn taking over Treasurer duties and Jodie becoming a signer.  Tammi Brabham seconded, and all were in favor.

Bonnie mentioned that the club received a letter from Gallia County Job & Family Services about the Angel Tree Program.  They are looking for representatives to attend a meeting and join efforts to assist in helping our community.  The meeting is November 4th at 4 PM at GCJFS. Kevin Petrie may be able to attend and get further information on this program.

Paul Harris Fellowships - Mel mentioned that the club had the opportunity to name 2 Paul Harris fellows this year and it would cost $15 to include their medallions.  Bonnie will be pulling information from the website to determine who in the club is already a Paul Harris Fellow.

Mel also mentioned that Lydia Simon put in $500 of her own money on behalf of Rotary Club to the Foundation.  Bonnie will send Lydia a Thank You card.

Jodie mentioned that Generation Gallia will be holding a CANstruction program in order to collect canned foods before Christmas.  She will bring this up at the next meeting.

President Bonnie adjourned the meeting.
