12/1/2009 Board Meeting
President Bonnie McFarland called the meeting to order.
Treasurer’s Report - Shawn reported that we paid the final expenses for the Bob Evans Farm Festival for about $2600. We also took in member dues and redeemed a CD for donation to the Disaster Recovery relief fund.
Secretary’s Report - Chuck Clark mentioned that we will be inducting 2 new members to the club, Chris Marazon and Shana Booher. Mel motioned to accept Chris into the club, Paul seconded and all were in favor. Jodie motioned to allow Shana into the club, Shawn seconded and all were in favor.
Chuck also mentioned that our attendance has been better since we sent out a letter to those who have not been attending. All but 2 members that the letter was sent to have been to recent meetings.
Old Business:
Christmas Party - Bonnie reported that we have received quotes from Merry Family Winery & Black Tie to BBQ Catering, as well as the Holiday Inn for our Christmas Dinner. The Board decided to hold the party at Merry Family Winery and have a chicken and ham dish catered by Black Tie to BBQ.
New Business - Shirley & Deb agreed to help with reviewing the Foundation By-Laws. Bonnie also mentioned that we needed to name 2 Paul Harris Fellows. She had trouble viewing them online but will get that list asap. Mel mentioned that he donated $250 to newborn screening tests on behalf of the Gallipolis Rotary Club and asked if the club would be interested in donating $750 in order to name an additional Paul Harris Fellow. That topic will be discussed at a future meeting.
