June Board Meeting
Meeting Attendees: Mel Simone, Resty Alonzo, Shawn Siders, Bonnie McFarland, Shirley Doss, Kevin Petrie, Deb Rhodes, Gordon Amsbury (guest).
President Bonnie called the board meeting to order for her last time today. Thank you to Bonnie who has done an excellent job as President this year!!
Secretary’s Report - None
Treasurer’s Report - Shawn noted a decrease in our checking account of $570 due to paying for items from the spaghetti dinner. Also, our Money Market accounts were down this month. Our Special Projects account had $2700 dispersed due to Relay for Life and Disaster Relief.
Rotary Brochure - Deb Rhodes will eamil Brenda at Wesbanco to check on the status of the Rotary brochure.
Bob Evans Farm Festival - Paul is waiting until after Relay for Life to discuss ice cream with Ray McKinnis.
Relay for Life - Kevin reported that we have met our goal of $1000 and all walking slots have been filled.
Livestock Princess/Queen Contest - Rotary will be sponsoring this again this year. Denise & Jodie will work on the event. Motioned by Shirley, Seconded by Jodie, all in favor.
Other Business - Bonnie suggested that we purchase a flag/banner holder for our banners. The cost is $110 each. Jodie motioned that we buy one, Shirley seconded, all in favor.
Bonnie reminded the board that June 29th is the night meeting to induct officers at Holzer Medical Center.
Rotary Pledge - Chuck reworded the Rotary Pledge from a template. Deb motioned to include in our new member induction, Kevin seconded, all were in favor.
Rotarian of the Year - Mel motioned that the board recognize Bonnie as Rotarian of the Year 2009-2010. Jodie seconded, all were in favor. Jodie will work with Chuck to order the plaque.
Shirley mentioned the Pomeroy Lion’s Club film clip. We will table this until the next meeting.
Jodie mentioned that we may want to consider the cost of dues. This may prevent younger people from joining the club.
