THE GALLIPOLIS ROTARY CLUB

President Lou Ellen called the meeting to order and introduced our guests, Evans Smalley and our program speaker, Connie Bradbury of Gallia Vinton ESC.

Lou Ellen reminded the club that our Christmas dinner & ornament exchange will be next Tuesday, so there is no morning meeting.  Lou Ellen also thanked the club members who pitched in money to help buy coats for 10 children between the ages of 3 and 18 years for the holidays.  She also reminded the club that Lee was holding a meeting on 12/8/2010 at Gallipolis Bob Evans at 5:30 to brainstorm ideas for an adolescent program.

Membership Chair Margaret Evans reminded the club that she has several informational materials if someone is interested in joining our club.  It has been a couple of months since our last inductee and we need to keep inviting new member prospects to meetings!

Congratulations to Resty Alonzo–President Lou Ellen also made a special presentation at today’s meeting.  Resty Alonso was awarded the Paul Harris sapphire pen.

Split the Pot - The small pot today was $9, with the large pot being “the better part of $100″ ($99) according to Jim Morrison.  Our guest, Connie Bradbury, drew the winning ticket, which was held by Ken Porada.  Ken didn’t win the large pot, however, he did fine anyone in the club that didn’t wear glasses or contacts. President Lou Ellen Werry opened the regular meeting of the Gallipolis Rotary Club promptly at 7:15 am.  Kevin Dennis provided the invocation.  President Lou Ellen welcomed one guest this morning, Evans Smalley, daughter of Rotarian Margaret Evans.

Balloting—Jim Morrison distributed the first round of balloting for next year’s slate of officers for the club.  The instructions for today were to vote for 10 members which will narrow down the choices for the second round which will be conducted on our next meeting, December 7th.   Debbie Rhodes assisted Jim in counting the results.   Please make every effort to be present next week for this important vote!

Outreach Donation—President Lou announced to the club a $2,000.00 has been made to the Outreach Center from our club and the Credo-Kenova Rotary Club.  Another donation was made today by Rotarian Ken Porada.  Thanks, Ken!  This is the time for annual giving and if you would like to remember Rotary or the Outreach Center please bring your checks to the next meeting.
