A large gathering of Gallipolis Rotarians and guests was called to order by President Lou Ellen Werry to open the morning meeting of the Gallipolis Rotary Club.  Our guests included visiting Rotarians Jack Buxton of Point Pleasant and Nayyer Hussain of Mansfield Rotary, who is the VP of Finance for URG.  Welcome everyone!

President Lou sent out a big THANKS to all who helped out with the Relay for Life event last week.  Particularly big thanks go out to our co-chairs, Dave Smith and Shana Booher for all the hard work!  We have some great ideas for next year!  Chuck Clark is also looking for pictures if anyone has some digital pics from the event.

Rotary Mile—Our annual youth run called the Rotary Mile IMG_0540will be run on Saturday, July 2nd just before the parade and this year is our 62nd Rotary  Mile!  We have t-shirts and trophies so we will just need to have members serve either at the starting line at the Shake Shoppe on 2nd Avenue or down at the finish line at the park.  Shirley Doss volunteered to follow the runners and pick up any stragglers.  This is our first project of the new Rotary Year!

Fellowship—After a couple of jokes to get things startedBirthday Sextet Minus Lou Gordon Amsbary ran our club fellowship for the morning.  Gordo fined Past President Bonnie McFarland for late arrival and we had a couple of birthdays today—Jodie McCalla and Matt Willis!  Gordon had them each select three ‘volunteers’ to form up a sextet to sign happy birthday which they did with great gusto!  Sorry that President Lou was left out of the picture.  We had a number of members purchase Happy Buck$ for bragging rights and Gordon concluded with his words of wisdom.
