DG with Shirley and Matt

Gallipolis Rotary hosted District Governor Brent Rosenthal and his wife, Sylvia, at this morning’s club meeting.  Above are, AG Matt Willis; DG Brent Rosenthal accepting a Rotary mug from Club President, Shirley Doss; and Sylvia Rosenthal.  The District Governor and his wife enjoyed a working meeting with club officers and directors on Monday evening at the Quality Inn.

Club President, Shirley Doss welcomed assembled Rotarians and guests.  Our guest today was Sammy Lopez, Publisher of the Gallipolis Daily Tribune and Rotarian from Carlsbad, NM.  Sammy was a guest of PDG Mel Simon.  It was good to see Honorary Rotarian Don  and Alvera Robinson with us today as well as Lydia Simon.  Always good to have you with us.

Jr. Fair Pageant—Project Chair, Jodie McCalla, briefed the club on the successful Livestock Royalty Pageant our club sponsors at the Gallia Junior Fair.  The Pageant was a little late starting this year due to the goat competition which was a little ‘b-a-a-d’, but we were pleased with the 30 entries and the quality of the judges!  Our winners for this year included: Livestock Queen, Michaela Hall; Queen Runner-up, Hattie Jarrell; Senior Princess Teah Elliott;  Senior Princess Runner-up, Jennifer Stump; Junior Princess, Abby VanSickle; and Junior Princess Runner-up, Riley Sanders.  Pictures from the event are in a previous entry on this blog and our club’s Facebook page.
